the old man and the sea
ernest hemingway
so far 2009 has been a year of reading for me. it's still january and i've already finished three books! (you know you're a geek when this excites you. :P) but honestly, there's nothing better than curling up with a good book on a cold wintery night. :)
anyway, i picked this book up at the library because i figured it couldn't suck since it's a classic. it's basically the story of an old fisherman, some bad luck, a skiff, and a big fish. (hemingway puts these things together a lot better than i just did, haha.)
it's a short book (at around 100 pages its what they call a novella - thank you wikipedia) so it didn't take too long to finish at all. overall i must say that it's a pretty good read although, to be completely honest, there were some parts that i thought were a little slow. nevertheless, if you haven't read this book yet, i think it's one worth reading.
