my kingmax super stick = super crap

my so-called indestructible, waterproof, and tinier-than-life (okay i made that last one up myself) kingmax super stick is now unrecognizable by my computer. i'm no techie, but i think it's safe to conclude that it's broken. good thing i backed up all my work files at work. i guess the store knows it sucks too, because when i bought it i paid $35. now it's selling for $12.99. piece of crap.

i knew i should have stuck with my original choice (a sandisk usb key that HAD a case and no exposed parts.) i knew i shouldn't have given into the whole "but it's waterproof" thing. (like i'm going to go swimming with it.) i knew i shouldn't have thrown out my receipt. (goodbye warranty. you need your receipt for it right?) :/

oh well, hindsight is always 20/20.

fling into spring

here's to...

...longer days
...warmer weather
...rain instead of snow
...blue skies and sunshine
...flowers instead of snowmen
...not having to brush snow off cars
...not having to wear bulky puffy coats that make you feel like the 'michelin man'-like marshmallow monster thing in ghostbusters
you've been fun winter, but now it's time for us to move on. see ya.

edit.

point taken chow - thanks for the heads up. i actually googled my name and my internship site just to see if my blog would come up (incase there were some snoopy people going around) and yah...it did. so i decided to erase my old post just incase. in my opinion i didn't say anything bad, and i doubt that my supervisor would ever come across my little online space, but i figured it's best to stay on the safe side. :P

just like the elementary school kids

this week is march break! usually i'd be like whatever, but this year things are a little different i suppose. my supervisor at bloorview let me and the other intern take it off as well so now i don't have as many sessions to do this week. i'm so glad. i totally needed this break.

you know, when i was still at school i thought that after i had graduated i'd have so much more time on my hands because of the whole "no homework" thing. i was so wrong...

anyway, before i go, here's a video from the three funny asian boys.

session block #2: (almost) done.

i have one more session to do at the bloorview nursery school and then my second ten-week session block will be over! (i'll still be doing inpatient sessions, but at least my community clients and preschool sessions will be done.) i actually just finished off the last of my saturday morning/afternoon sessions today. this means that i can now sleep in for the next four saturdays. sweet deal - oh how i've missed my saturday mornings! today was exceptionally hard to get out of bed. i woke up to the sight of grey clouds, light rain and gloominess. the only upside to the gloomy weather? the rain had "washed" my car leaving it relatively salt-free and much cleaner without me having to pay some dude (ermm, corporation?) at a gas station to clean it for me. :P

p.s. happy national sharon's day!!!!!! ;)

happy belated chinese new year everyone. it's my year this year - yay for pigs!

has it already been 12 years?

this time around, i'm turning 24.
this means next time the mighty boar (haha) comes again, i'll be turning 36...

...time is flying.

needing grace

it's so frustrating when you realize that the biggest obstacle in your life is yourself.

that I may praise Your name..."

mozilla firefox > internet explorer

i've been using firefox since justin introduced me to it back when we were still in university, and since then i've never looked back. with tabbed browsing, favourite icon quick link thingies (can you tell i'm not a computer geek?) and not as many annoying pop-up ads, i've never felt the need to go back to explorer. and boy am i glad i didn't.

so, i was at my parent's computer a few nights ago and was going to show my mom something when i clicked onto this page using the web browser my mom was using, internet explorer, and was greeted by the most ugly of uglies page. a fugly page if you will. too bad it was mine. haha. my pictures were HUGE, my banners weren't aligned and were also HUGE, and although i'm no graphic designer, i knew that what i was looking at was real bad. not to say my page is the best looking when it looks like what it's suppose to look like (because like i said, i'm no graphic designer), but let's not have the world's fugliest blog either if you know what i'm saying.

anyway, upon discovering that my page looked like that, i battled with the html (which still baffles me at times, but i am getting a little better at deciphering what codes do what) to try to get my page in explorer to look the way it does in firefox. yep. nothing worked. i managed to fix *some stuff* (i.e. at least my pictures aren't huge anymore) but still. things aren't working/looking right, and my poor blog is still fugly in IE...

...and i really need to stop procrastinating. haha.
